Juan is a coding veteran. His experience ranges from DevOps roles (managing systems, continuous integration, configuration management) to software development in a variety of languages (C, Python, C#, PHP, Javascript, among others) for a variety of platforms (linux/linux-based network routers, Windows, Web/CMSes). He has an interest in infosec and regularly attends DerbyCon and DEFCON. Juan’s passion for blockchain began with an Ethereum meetup in Minneapolis. He is originally from Wisconsin and is a huge fan of the American football team Green Bay Packers. Juan holds two degrees - a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Studies with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.

Mat has built a career developing long-lasting connections between brands, their customers and communities. Having contributed to a range of technology startups in New Zealand, Australia and Germany, he was drawn to blockchain by the undiscovered potential of this nascent technology.

Michael's passion for communications started in school with political journalism and activism for environmental NGOs. After graduating from university, he moved to Berlin to dive into the dynamic world of startups. What followed was a period of industry-hopping, including successful tenures in e-commerce and fashion. But it wasn’t until discovering blockchain that Michael knew he found an industry to call home.

Lisk’s ambition to make blockchain accessible to everyone instantly resonated with Jacob’s aspiration to engage and educate people on the subject of this incredible technology. Driven by innovation, collaboration and a desire to see a fairer world, as well as a lifelong affinity for developing technologies, Jacob is particularly excited about aiding in the development of groundbreaking blockchain applications on the Lisk platform.

Kuba’s experience in marketing began with an internship at a public relations agency in Warsaw. His passion for technology has always affected his professional choices. He has experience working with Fortune 500 companies as well as young startups. In recent years, his interest in branding has grown; he loves to figure out how to build lasting relationships between companies and their audiences.

Lindsay specializes in creating engaging marketing strategies. After spending over a decade working at tech startups and ad agencies, she understands what truly drives business results. Her razor-sharp analytical expertise means Lindsay can quickly pinpoint campaign optimizations. She saw Lisk as an opportunity to fully advocate decentralization as an ideology.

With a background in business and marketing, Thomas is responsible for the ideation, development and execution of marketing strategies for Lisk. He believes that with the right people, anything is possible. Thomas has a versatile, creative and visionary mind with great passion for blockchain technology, entrepreneurship and golf. For a long time, he was interested in the economical and disrupting factor of Bitcoin before gaining a true understanding of the blockchain technology itself.

Mehmet’s love of coding began when he was a teenager. Over the last fifteen years, he has developed various applications such as mobile and desktop apps and real-time browser games, but mostly focused on web development. He likes to create useful tools and solve problems. When he isn't coding in the office, he is likely coding at home or doing stand-up comedy on a stage somewhere in Berlin.

Fresh out of his doctorate program in Distributed Algorithms and Optimization, Jan is a keen problem-solver. As a Cryptographer at Lightcurve, he is responsible for researching ways to improve different aspects of the current Lisk protocol. He wants to see the disruption of centralized service providers, such as the finance industry, by blockchain technology.

As a Frontend QA Engineer, Andrei takes quality advocacy for the Lisk project very seriously. He spent six years in Quality Assurance prior to joining the Lightcurve team. He’s excited to see blockchain transform all industries by eliminating the need for intermediaries. He also feels that blockchain will ensure that information cannot be manipulated from a single point of control.

As a scientist, Andreas enjoys solving complex problems. Prior to joining Lisk, he held positions researching mathematics and public key cryptography, researching traffic modeling, simulation, as well as surveillance and developing software in the automotive industry. He believes Lisk will provide the tools that will enable anyone to easily create secure dapps to benefit various communities.

Michał loves trying new things; over the past few years, he has delved into various technologies, ranging from game development to machine learning. As a Frontend Developer, he loves creating interfaces and has a great deal of commercial experience. In regards to Lisk’s future, he is most exciting for sidechains, which he believes will be a game changer.

Manu grew up in a small town with very little exposure to technology. This motivated him to study engineering. He has experience in C#, .Net, JavaScript, Node.JS and most recently worked on Elixir programming language. In his opinion, blockchain as a technology and cryptocurrency as a domain are a combination that will rule the 21st century.

Lucas is a self-described curious guy who likes to know how things work. As a developer reading code, he gets to learn how applications behave to better understand concepts. Before joining the team, he spent over five years as a Fullstack Developer using Ruby as a main programming language. He also has a great deal of experience with various JavaScript libraries and frameworks.

Nicolai is an enthusiastic Frontend Developer at Taikonauten. He’s excited about the innovative projects developers will be able to easily build with Lisk. Taikonauten is an award-winning agency based in Berlin. They are specialists for the human-centered, strategic & digital staging of brands and products.

Shusetsu grew up between Japan, the US and Canada. He’s held a number of roles in the past, including Software Engineer and CEO. He has experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, JAVA, C++, C# and PHP. Creating and providing products with great user experience has always been at the core of his career; he has released mobile games as well as services and business tools.

Jon grew up in Guadeloupe, a French island in the middle of the Caribbean. It is difficult to say whether or not this contributed to his drive to bring people closer together. He believes government regulation has made it difficult for small-time investors to participate in the growth of the technology economy. Decentralization through blockchain will help to better distribute and allocate funding so that it is evenly spread out and accessible to more people.

Iker grew up in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque region of Spain. Prior to joining Lisk, he spent several years as a Software Engineer and Content Developer at MATLAB and Simulink-maker MathWorks. He discovered Bitcoin and the revolutionary idea of blockchain back in 2013. Soon after, he got involved in various blockchain projects as a hobby.

Michal grew up in a small town in Poland. He wrote his first code at the age of 10 - and never lost his interest in programming since. Fast forward many years, he developed software for public hospitals and in the medical science industry in Berlin. Blockchain felt like the next natural step in his career, as he quickly recognized this technology would be the solution to people’s fear of centralization.

Nazar has been in the software development industry for over 15 years. Prior to Lisk, he worked as a Senior Software Architect leading three products for eKomi. He has also worked in a range of industries, including education, finance and governmental services. Nazar had been looking into blockchain technology for over a year before he realized he was interested in pursuing a career in it.

Francois has a passion for automation. So he’s always looking for ways to make system administration tasks run smoothly and improve the software deployment process. As a DevOps engineer he’s looking forward to the SDK release, which will make blockchain far less intimidating, frustrating and more appealing. He also likes that a decentralized network offers openness in a secure environment.

Yashar is a Frontend Developer from Iran. He joined Lisk with a great deal of previous experience in IT. His career brought him to many different places over the last seven years - from East Asia to Western Europe. He believes decentralization and blockchain technology will lead us to a better world; and that Lisk is the open source blockchain platform that will help make our world more accessible than ever before.

Diego has been in the blockchain scene for quite some time. He most recently worked for startup Mubiz developing blockchain-based applications. The most outstanding project in which he led development was Mubiz.com, a search engine which crawls the decentralized marketplace OpenBazaar.

Usman felt right at home when he moved to Berlin from Pakistan last year to join Lisk. Moving around a great deal from a young age instilled in him a sense that he is a global citizen. Usman's interest in computers began with the game Quake III, and a fun hobby quickly morphed into a love of programming.

From the early days of his career as a developer, Ali realized the incredible benefits that open source frameworks and libraries can bring to the world. He personally benefitted from these advantages, but never had the chance to pass them onto his community. Here at Lisk, he finally has the ability to contribute, as the Lisk platform encourages people to work together to build a better, decentralized world.

Vít’s life of programming began when he was just a teenager. The first programming language he learned was PHP; Java, C, C++, Python and JavaScript came next. He gravitated towards frontend development after his time developing online learning systems with the Adaptive Learning Research Group at university.

Maciej joined Lisk from Nokia, where he was a Fullstack Developer. During his time at Nokia, he focused on smaller projects in data processing, geolocation and smart city development. He enjoys experimenting with trending technologies and taking on projects from various disciplines; he is particularly fond of artificial intelligence.

Before joining Lisk, Mariusz worked as a Junior Software Engineer for Home.pl, the largest domain registrar in Poland. He came to Lisk to help create a better future with blockchain technology. He believes Lisk is a pioneer in the industry in part because its goals include bringing about greater blockchain technology accessibility.

The global financial crisis helped to make Oliver realize that he wanted to create something of bigger significance than the projects he was involved in at the time. With twelve years of development experience, he understood that digital technology, put into the hands of more people than the elite, can be a powerful tool to make the world more just and honest. Oliver saw that blockchain technology offered great opportunity, but that the platforms available for developers were far too complex
